Start with the person holding the controls

Choosing EMS shorts starts with a simple question: who needs to make adjustments, and where will they do it? A studio coach working beside a client, a distributor selling a standalone product, and a brand building a connected experience have different priorities. The shorts may all target the lower body, but the control method changes setup, packaging, staff training and customer support.

MacroSea offers three distinct routes: 902K with the wired 902 controller and no app, 2105 shorts with the compact wireless 2105C controller and no app, and 2011 shorts with the 2011 controller and MBODY app. Compare the whole set, including the garment, controls and intended use, before deciding on colors or a logo.

Three control approaches at a glance

Wireless and App controlled describe different experiences. The 2105C is a controller model used with the 2105 shorts and other compatible products, including pads and belts. Only the 2011 controller uses MBODY. The 902, 2105C and 2011 controller families are not interchangeable. Specify the exact controller and accessories in your quotation.

Decide how hands-on the experience should be

With the 902K, the wired 902 controller gives the operator a tangible place to make adjustments. In a supervised setting, try a normal session with the cable in place: can the coach see and reach the controls, and can the wearer move through the intended exercises without the cable getting in the way? Include putting the set on, putting it away and preparing it for the next user in the trial.

The 2105C controller operates without a phone app. That can suit a range positioned around a compact, self-contained product. Ask a first-time user to find the controls, make an adjustment and understand the device's indicators using the proposed instructions. A smaller controller can be convenient, but a buyer should check that its interface is comfortable for the intended audience.

For either model, discuss how users will identify a low battery, charge the controller and contact your support team. These details shape the product experience after delivery.

What changes with the 2011 App option?

The 2011 controller supports Bluetooth, USB-C charging, a 1-100 Hz frequency range and 16 independent outputs. The 2011 shorts have 10 electrodes and five garment channels. The controller outputs and garment channels describe different parts of the system. Zone intensity adjustment is available through the 2011 system.

App control adds screen space for an interface and gives a brand another customer touchpoint. It also adds work: a user needs a compatible phone, a connection and clear instructions. For an Android release, the relevant Bluetooth permissions depend on the App's target version and what the App does. Test the actual pairing and permission flow on the phones your customers use, rather than assuming that every phone behaves identically.

MBODY has no membership feature. MacroSea can develop a dedicated app with a branded interface and membership functions. Discuss custom development fees with sales. The custom App project requires at least 100 garment-and-controller sets; that condition is not the minimum order for every shorts model.

Evaluate the garment as well as the controller

Control is only one part of the decision. Request samples in the sizes you expect to sell, then check the size chart against actual users. Look for consistent electrode contact through the intended movement, whether the garment stays in position, and whether the wearer can put it on and remove it without awkward assistance. Record feedback by size instead of treating one sample as proof that the whole size range fits.

Work through the care routine with the exact garment. MacroSea's general guidance is to remove the controller and hand-wash the garment, or use a laundry bag with a gentle machine cycle. Confirm the care details for your selected model and final materials, and put the approved instructions where users can find them. For US consumer apparel, check the FTC's care-label requirements when preparing the final label.

Compare the complete offer

Ask for an itemized quote for the chosen garment and controller, sizing, charging cable, instructions, packaging and any extras. MacroSea's general standard set also includes a small spray bottle; confirm the contents for the model and order you are considering. Paid samples are available for products in stock. Ask separately about branding, replacements and delivery timing. Product minimums and lead times are quoted according to the model and project.

MacroSea's warranty covers garments for three months and controllers for one year, excluding damage caused by the user. The team assesses the issue to arrange repair, parts or replacement.

Then estimate the support that each approach will need. A wired product needs clear guidance on handling and storing its cable. A standalone wireless product needs an understandable control guide. A connected set needs answers for phone setup, updates and connection problems. These are different operating costs, even when the garments look similar in a catalog.

A practical shortlist for your supplier

  1. Name your buyer and use setting: individual customer, studio or distributor.
  2. Choose the preferred control route: 902K with wired 902 control, 2105 shorts with wireless 2105C control and no app, or 2011 with MBODY app control.
  3. Specify garment sizes, expected quantity, branding and intended destination markets.
  4. Request a sample set, the current size chart, care instructions and an itemized list of components.
  5. Test setup, adjustment, movement, charging and cleaning with representative users.
  6. Ask what can be customized, how replacements are ordered and what the model-specific quote includes.

A clear brief makes the first discussion much more useful. Explore the EMS shorts range or send MacroSea your project requirements for a model-specific comparison.
